As usual, the Equity professional, award-winning East Lynne Theater Company is accepting items for the Food Closet during the run of its holiday show. What is needed most are boxed spaghetti, shampoo, canned veggies, and coffee. For monetary donations, makes checks payable to The Community Food Closet of Cape May.

There are five performances remaining of "Yuletide Tales:" Sunday, December 4, Thursday through Saturday, December 8-10 at 8:00p.m., plus 2:00p.m. on December 10. The theater is in residence at the historic First Presbyterian Church of Cape May, 500 Hughes Street. Tickets are $27; $17 for students and military (active/retired). Ages twelve and under are free.

With 30 plus roles to perform, "Yuletide Tales" is a one-woman tour-de-force for ELTC's artistic director, Gayle Stahlhuth, resulting in a production not seen anywhere else. The stories she selected this year to adapt for the stage, memorize, and perform are "Susie's Letter from Santa Claus" (Mark Twain), "9 Linwood Street" (Edward Everett Hale), "The Snow Image" (Nathanial Hawthorne), and "The Gift of the Magi" (O. Henry). The tales are endearing, witty, and appropriate for all ages. With simple gestures like the flick of a wrist, and a change in dialect, she moves from character to character. For over 30 years, Stahlhuth has performed a variety of one-person shows in such locations as the Smithsonian Institution and Manhattan Theatre Club, and her work has been noted by NEA's "American Masterpiece Series."

Season tickets for the 2017 Mainstage Productions are available and make a great gift. The price is only $88 for four shows, and can be used in a variety of ways. There are six exciting productions for 2017: "Will Rogers' U.S.A.," "Ah, Wilderness!," "A Year in the Trenches," "Louisa May Alcott's Christmas," "Detectives Holmes and Carter," and "Sherlock Holmes Adventure of the Speckled Band."

East Lynne's season would not be possible without the support of Curran Investment Management, Aleathea's Restaurant, The Henry Sawyer Inn, The Washington Inn, and La Mer Beachfront Inn, the NJ State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts; the NJ Dept. of State, Division of Travel and Tourism; and the generosity of many patrons.
