ELTC Presents a Student Workshop Production of STORY THEATER

Several animals leave home to make a living on the stage, a flounder grants wishes to a fisherman, and a country mouse doesn't understand city life. It's all part of the fun of "Story Theater" in which fables and fairy tales are brought to life, featuring "The Bremen Town Musicians," "The Fisherman and His Wife," and "The City Mouse and the Country Mouse." This production involves the deceptively simple use of storytelling, with the imagination, to create different characters and locals. A particular pleasure for the actors and audience in "Story Theater" is when the invisible becomes visible.

East Lynne Theater Company's much anticipated Student Workshop Production is back!

After nine, three-hour sessions, students, ages 10-14, will perform "Story Theater" on Monday, July 2, at 8:00p.m. at The First Presbyterian Church, 500 Hughes St., Cape May, where the company is in residence. This marks ELTC's 12th Summer Student Workshop Production, and for the past eleven years, students have performed for full houses. Admission is free and families are welcome.

Like last year, the workshop leader is once more Rob LeMaire, who this year, is assisted by Michael Beebe and Elizabeth Buch. Rob is the assistant director for ELTC's upcoming "Arsenic and Old Lace," and also takes on the role of Teddy Brewster. This past year, he directed "The Addams Family" and "Stage Door" at Ocean City High School. Michael just finished his freshman year as an American Sign Language-English Interpreting major at Keuka College. Elizabeth is going to be a freshman at The College of New Jersey this fall, also majoring in ASL Interpreting. ELTC's artistic director Gayle Stahlhuth and technical director Lee O'Connor are also on hand to help with the production.

Meanwhile, ELTC's mainstage world premiere musical revue, "On the Sunny Side of the Street," continues Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8:30p.m. only through July 21. There is not a performance on July 4, but there is one on Sunday, July 8.
