About Bill Maher: For the last nineteen years, New Jersey's own Bill Maher has redefined the boundaries of where humorous, political talk can go on American television. First on "Politically Incorrect" (Comedy Central, ABC, 1993-2002), and for the last nine years on HBO's "Real Time," Maher's combination of unflinching honesty and big laughs have garnered him twenty-seven Emmy nominations. No subjects are off limits; whether it's a scathing observation on politics, broad cultural criticisms or taking a swipe at organized religion, Maher has a gift for delivering hilarious intelligent commentary.
In addition to his television programs, Maher has written five bestsellers. His latest book, "The New New Rules," was published in November, 2011. His documentary "Religulous," directed by Larry Charles ("Borat"), has gone on to become the eighth highest grossing documentary ever. Three of his nine stand-up specials for HBO have been nominated for Emmy awards. Currently, Maher is gearing up for his 10th season of "Real Time" that kicks off Friday, January 13. He will also deliver a stand-up performance entitled CrazyStupidPolitics: Bill Maher Live from Silicon Valley, available exclusively on Yahoo in February. Maher was raised in River Vale, New Jersey.
Don't miss one of the most politically astute comedians in America today when Bill Maher takes the stage in his only area appearance at NJPAC.
