Barbara Cook to Perform at South Orange Performing Arts Center, 5/31

By:

This brilliant singer and actress has done it all! She made her Broadway debut in 1951 and was the toast of the town for over two decades during the Golden Age of Broadway.

Her signature roles include Marian the Librarian in Harold Willson's The Music Man, Cunegonde in Bernstein's Candide and Amalia in Bock-Harnick-Masteroff's She Loves Me. If you haven't heard her sing "Ice Cream" lately, give yourself a treat (that has no calories) and check it out on YouTube! And now, you can see her live with a limited special offer.

In 1975 she made her Carnegie Hall debut and has returned there seven times, most recently to celebrate her birthday in 2012. She has toured the world, been honored with the Tony, Grammy, Drama Desk and New York Drama Critics Circle Awards, and many others. She received a citation as a Living New York Landmark and was inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame. She was nominated for a Tony Award most recently in 2011 for Roundabout Theatre Company's Sondheim on Sondheim. That year she was also named a Kennedy Center Honoree.

She is classic, brilliant and extraordinary, which doesn't even begin to describe her.

Now, she is appearing as the South Orange Performing Arts Center's gala on Saturday, May 31 in a special performance that begins at 9PM.

You can be part of this very special event with an offer that is only available to a select group of people who know and love musical theatre.
