The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and New Jersey Performing Arts Center have announced the return of BATMAN in concert, with a live orchestral performance accompanying the 1989 film. The event will take place March 6, 2027 at 8:00 p.m. at Prudential Hall in Newark.

The film, directed by Tim Burton, will be screened in full while the orchestra performs Danny Elfman’s score live. The production features performances by Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson, and Kim Basinger.

Originally released in 1989, BATMAN marked a shift in the superhero genre with its darker tone and visual style. Elfman’s score, which was nominated for a Grammy Award, has become associated with the character and will be performed in sync with the film.

The event is part of the DC in Concert series, a global touring program presented by TCG Entertainment in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment and DC. The series features live orchestras performing scores alongside screenings of DC films.

Audience members are encouraged to attend in DC-themed costumes. The film is rated PG-13 and runs approximately two hours.

Ticket Information

Tickets will go on sale May 8, 2026, and will be available through NJPAC.org, by phone at 1-888-GO-NJPAC, or at the NJPAC box office.
