AMERICA'S GOT TALENT Finalist Is Back By Popular Demand
Eagle's next installment of Stand-Up Comedy is August 26th @ 7:00PM & 9:30PM, featuring America's Got Talent finalist, and Winner of Showtime's Funniest Person in America, the Crazy Old Lady of Comedy, Julia Scotti. Julia Scotti, a New Jersey native, is a regular at Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas and the Borgata, Atlantic City.
Her comedy has been praised as "Hilarious, powerful, dynamic, real... if you combine Sam Kinison and Mrs. Doubtfire... you have Julia Scotti!" Julia was born male, and lived the first 28 years of her life as Rick Scotti. After transitioning and pursuing comedy, Julia found her hilarious new voice, as she appeared on the original Comedy Central and was the winner of Showtime's Funniest Person in America contest for New Jersey, losing the finals to Ellen Degeneres.
In 2014, Julia was one of the winners of the Laughlin Laugh Festival in Nevada, and has been named one of the top 5 Transgender Comedians in the country by The Advocate. Scotti's ability to tackle serious issues with incredibly relate-able humor has had audiences of all ages and backgrounds clamoring for the "Crazy Old Lady of Comedy". Co-Artistic Director Ted Wioncek III states, "We pride ourselves in our ability to provide diversity in all that we do; whether it be a Stand-Up Comedy Series, Jersey Fringe Festival, or our New Works Development Series, dedicated to the unique voice of women writing for professional regional theatre today. We strive to create an environment that not only embraces our differences, but celebrates them, as well. Julia Scotti is more than a comedian, she is a role model."
