The Gods of Comedy will be presented by the Community Players of Concord on February 14 and 15 (7:30pm) and February 16 (2pm) at the Concord City Auditorium, 2 Prince St., Concord. www.communityplayers.org This Ken Ludwig comedy is the perfect Valentine’s Day date! College professors Ralph and Daphne discover a lost translation of Euripides while on vacation in Greece. Upon returning to their Ivy League university, their plans for a publicized stage premiere goes awry when the only copy of the manuscript is shredded by a fastidious janitor. Daphne’s cry for help is answered by two ancient gods who actually appear…and just in time for “classics weekend” when everyone on the quad is in costumes. Hijinks and hilarity hit Olympian heights when gods Thalia and Dionysus get sidetracked by contemporary campus partying just as our two professors are about to face the dean – and the donors – without a play! When purchased online or by mail, as part of a two- show season subscription, tickets are $16 each. Individual tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for students and seniors. Individual and season tickets are available at www.communityplayersofconcord.org. Tickets also available at the box office at the City Auditorium, open 90 minutes before show times. For questions regarding main stage tickets, call 603-224-4905.
