Opening Cue Zero Theatre Company’s Season 4 is DW Gregory’s Radium Girls directed by Allyson Kinch. In 1926, radium was a miracle cure, Madame Curie an international celebrity, and luminous watches the latest rage—until the girls who painted them began to fall ill with a mysterious disease. Inspired by a true story, Radium Girls traces the efforts of Grace Fryer, a dial painter, as she fights for her day in court. This play marks Allyson's Cue Zero debut.

Radium Girls is produced by special arrangement with THE DRAMATIC PUBLISHING COMPANY of Woodstock, Illinois, and will be performed March 3rd through the 5th at the Arts Academy of New Hampshire in Salem, NH.

“When exploring this play, I’m often reminded of how history repeats itself,” says Kinch. “This story recalls the past of the brave women who risked everything to not only stand up for themselves but for our future. At its core this play is about people who have their whole lives put in question. My hope is that the audience considers people’s ‘evil’ actions are often made out of self-preservation and can blind them from the truth. Sometimes to make the change we need, we have to be faced with the consequences of our decisions; whether it be from the past or the present.”

The play which Variety described as "A compelling new drama...the playwright lays out the facts with historical accuracy, descriptive simplicity and graphic candor," provides a fascinating experience for audiences and performers alike. The company of local performers brings to life some of the most complex real people from a vital moment in American History. Tickets are $15, available either online or at the door.
