Jaffrey Theatre Holds 2nd Annual Toy Drive Comedy Night Dec 3

The Park Theatre and River Street Theatre (RST) announced today that they would hold their 2nd Annual Monad Knock-Knock Comedy night toy drive, "Toys4Joy." Audience members are asked to bring unwrapped toys to the comedy night event. The toys are distributed to Jaffrey and surrounding community families in need at the Holidays. Free popcorn will be given out for every children's toy donated at Monad Knock-Knock Toys4Joy night. (Additional toys can be left at The Park Theatre Executive Office at 6 River Street in Jaffrey until December 14.)

NH's consistently award-winning, and perhaps youngest, professional theatre has just launched their 2019 summer season, and topping the list is a June 12 opening of On Golden Pond that will be directed by author and Academy Award winner, Ernest Thompson. Set in Maine, the film shot in NH's Squam Lake locations not far from the Playhouse, the art of the play is not in its settings but in the relationships that emerge from golden days and loving bonds - truth revealed in any locale. On Golden Pond is part of a thematic year of art - and artists - they're calling 'Made in America,' with work that speaks to what that means and how our very diversity actually unifies us in the iconography of discovery.

SISTER ACT Joins Season 54 Lineup at Weathervane

Producing Artistic Director Ethan Paulini has announced Sister Act as the final show in the 2019 54th Season. Based on the hit 1992 film, Sister Act joins the rotating repertory on August 21, 2019. This heaven sent musical comedy is a high energy Broadway spectacular.  Adapted by Bill and Cheri Steinkellner with additional material by Douglas Carter Beane, Sister Act features a disco, pop and R&B score by Oscar, Tony and Grammy Winner Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater. This title joins the already announced Lady Day at  Emerson's Bar and Grill. Cast, creative team and a full schedule will be announced shortly. Season 54 officially opens on July 6 with the annual Bubble and Squeak. Performances continue for 8 weeks through August 31 culminating in audience favorite Best Of. Other programming including Patchwork Players, will be announced in the coming weeks.  
NH Theatre Project Celebrates The Holidays With IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE: A RADIO PLAY

New Hampshire Theatre Project celebrates their 30th anniversary season with a special holiday production of It's a Wonderful Life.  Joe Landry has re-envisioned the beloved film classic as a 1940's style radio play.  Five seasoned actors bring George, Clarence, Mary and all the residents of Bedford Falls to life on that fateful Christmas Eve - over 40 different roles. The show features holiday music and a foley artist playing live sound effects.
DICKENS' A CHRISTMAS CAROL Returns to the Hatbox

The Hatbox Theatre presents Dickens' A Christmas Carol for three weekends from November 29 through December 16. Shows are Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, Thursday and Saturday shows at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 2:00pm. Tickets are $17, $14 for members, seniors, and students, and $12 for senior members. Shriner Clowns To Volunteer At PUDDLES PITY PARTY, Today

Numerous New Hampshire Shriner Clowns will be part of the Capitol Center of the Arts Ensemble Volunteer corps today, November 17 for the Puddles Pity Party performance. The Shriner Clowns will also be passing out a $1 off coupon for the group's annual FEZtival of Trees, to be held at the Bektash Shriner Center, 189 Pembroke Rd, Concord, NH later this month. While they will not be appearing in their clown costumes, they'll be easily identifiable by a special name badge.
National Ballet Theatre Of Odessa Comes to Capitol Center For The Arts

The National Ballet Theatre of Odessa will perform its production of Tchaikovsky's classic "Swan Lake" at the Capitol Center for the Arts on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 3PM. This full-scale production features choreography after Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov and is  based on Russian folklore and German legend of a heroic young prince as he works to free a beautiful swan maiden from an evil spell. This is the ballet company's first U.S. tour.

Featuring such iconic songs as "God Bless the Child" and "Strange Fruit," Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill is an thrilling recreation of Billie Holiday's final concert. Filled with humor, hope and unforgettable storytelling, the legendary singer takes us on a journey through the highs and lows of her tumultuous life while treating the audiences to exuberant renditions of her beloved jazz classics. Pontine Theatre Hosts A VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS

The production, performed by Pontine Co-Directors, Marguerite Mathews & Greg Gathers, includes a Toy Theatre adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol and a puppet play, The Knave of Hearts by Vermont's Louise Saunders. Performances are Thursday at 3pm, Friday at 7pm, Saturday at 3pm and Sunday at 2pm at the Plains School located at #1 Plains Avenue, Portsmouth NH. The story tells the tale of a young Rudolph who, because of the appearance of his bright, shining nose, is excluded from the Reindeer Games. He flees Christmastown and meets up with new friends Hermey the Elf and Yukon Cornelius. After finding The Island of Misfit Toys, Rudolph journeys home, where a snowstorm of epic proportions is threatening Christmas. Can Rudolph rescue his family and friends and help Santa save the holiday?

Make or continue a holiday tradition! Holiday Pops returns to the historic Capitol Center for the Arts in Downtown Concord on Sunday, December 23. The festive annual event features performances from the Capital Jazz Orchestra, guest vocalists CJ Poole and Laura Daigle, and narrator Laura Knoy of NHPR who will be reciting her traditional version of 'The Night Before Christmas.'  The performance is sponsored by Northeast Delta Dental.
