The Palace Theatre of Manchester, New Hampshire is proud to announce the 2009-2010 Citizens Bank Performing Arts Series. Eight productions are presented this year which feature Broadway favorites, holiday traditions and an original production. The season includes:

Forever Plaid - September 18 - October 3

CATS - October 30 - November 14

The Nutcracker - November 27 - 29

A Christmas Carol - December 4 - 27

Noises Off - January 15- 23

Swing Fever - February 12 - 27

RENT - March 26 - April 11

The Full Monty - April 30 - May 15

The Palace debuts the 2009-2010 season with Forever Plaid from September 18th -October 3rd. Forever Plaid follows four young, eager male singers killed in a car crash in the 1950s en route to pick up their custom-made plaid tuxedos. The Plaids are miraculously revived to perform the show they never got to do in life. Songs from Forever Plaid include "Heart and Soul", "Rags To Riches" and many other songs inspired by the 1950s.

October 30th - November 14th, CATS returns to the Palace stage! One of the longest running shows on Broadway, CATS tells the story, in song and dance, of the annual gathering of the Jellicle cats at which time one special cat is selected to ascend to the Heaviside layer. Featuring the unforgettable ballad "Memory", and upbeat songs such as "Skimbleshanks the Railway Cat", CATS is sure to be a night celebrating the love for song and dance!

The Nutcracker runs just one weekend from November 27th-29th, this magical holiday tradition features the Southern New Hampshire Dance Theater and a live orchestra!

The Palace Theatre's 9th annual production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol runs from December 4th-27th. A Christmas Carol features the traditional story of Scrooge and Tiny Tim, told with festive holiday songs and dances performed by a cast of over 50 actors!

The Palace will bring, Noises Off January 15-23, this hilarious comedy follows a theatre company as they rehearse and perform a play all while dealing with the mishaps backstage! This show is sure to keep the audience laughing, entertained and wanting more!

The Palace is excited to present an original production, Swing Fever, from February 12-27. Influenced by Dancing with the Stars, the show features popular dances including Lindy Hop, East Coast, West Coast, Jitterbug, Shag, and Balboa all danced to the music from 1920s to the contemporary music of today! Sure to be a high energy night featuring a live band with dancers and vocalists direct from New York City!

The Broadway phenomenon RENT comes to the Palace stage from March 26- April 11. This ground-breaking Tony and Pulitzer Prize Award winner reinvented musicals when it debuted in 1996. An inspiring story about friends struggling in New York City's East Village, RENT tackles addiction, poverty, AIDS and most of all love. Songs from RENT include "Season of Love" and "La vie Boheme", RENT is the recipient of numerous awards including a Tony for Best Musical.

The Citizens Bank Performing Arts Series will conclude the 2009-2010 season with The Full Monty, this hysterical Broadway musical comedy stars a group of unemployed men who are about to be the best male strippers Manchester has ever seen!

The Palace artistic team will once again travel to New York City to cast the shows. In the past as many as 300 actors auditioned for the Citizens Bank Performing Art Series at the Palace Theatre.

Citizens Bank and the Palace Theatre are celebrating the tenth season of their historic partnership to support the performing arts in New Hampshire. Since 2000, Citizens has donated more than $450,000 to the theatre creating and supporting the Citizens Bank Performing Arts Series and announced an additional commitment of $150,000 over the next three years. This comprehensive cultural partnership has helped ensure the long-term financial stability and growth of the Palace Theatre.

Tickets range from $15-$45 depending on seating. There are also many discounts available including a 10% discount for Citizens Bank customers, group rates, a senior special which offers a $25 ticket for seniors at all matinees, a matinee family 4-pack and student rush tickets for just $15!
