The Open Door Theatre at New England College will present The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare September 15 and 16 at 7:30 pm and September 17 at 3:00 pm in the Mainstage Theatre in the Science Building at 58 Depot Hill Road, Henniker, NH 03242.

Before her younger sister can get married, fiery-tongued Kate must have a husband. Fortune-seeking Petruchio comes to town and accepts the challenge, but his attempt to "tame" his new bride results in a tumultuously titillating battle of the sexes. Fierce and funny, The Taming of the Shrew is a rollicking romantic comedy that explores courtship, marriage, and the tempestuous journey of love.

Set in mid-century Manhattan and flavored by a soundtrack of period standards, this production features Alex Picard as Kate and Ian Allan as Petruchio. The cast also includes Russ Rattray, Greg Stuart, Ian Harte, Katie Coe, Kevin Guimond, Adam Boisselle, Bill O'Donnell, Michelle Bibeau and CJ Smith.

A Pre-show featuring live music performed by the company begins 30 minutes prior to each performance so plan on coming early to enjoy the fun!
