Building on the extraordinary success of its first three shows of the 2009/2010 season, the Seacoast Repertory Theatre is pleased to announce its next production, ALMOST,MAINE. This multi-award winning show runs February 5-28, 2010. Tickets are currently on sale.

ALMOST, MAINE is set in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine, where not everything is quite what it seems. On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, as the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky, Almost's residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But The Bruises heal, and the hearts mend-almost-in this delightful midwinter night's dream.
Written by Maine native John Cariani, ALMOST, MAINE has played to packed houses off-Broadway and across the company since its debut. Winner of numerous honors it has consistently captured the hearts of audiences and critics everywhere. The New York Times called ALMOST, MAINE "A whimsical approach to the joys and perils of romance. Magical happenings bloom beneath the snowdrifts. ALMOST, MAINE explores the thunderclap of love and the scorched earth that sometimes follows."

"Thornton Wilder crossed with ‘The Twilight Zone.'" said The New York Post. "When the northern
lights appear in the sky and the characters shine with the joyfulness of love, it's hard not to believe that the wintry air of northern Maine isn't the cure for heartache."

CurtainUp.com urged their readers to "Escape from cell phones and city tensions to a world where a kiss is not just a kiss, but a life changing big deal." and AM New York called ALMOST, MAINE "Catchy and creative. The perfect date show for young and old alike."

Produced by Seacoast Repertory Theatre the creative/production team for includes Craig J. Faulkner (Artistic Director/Director), David Towlan (Scenic Designer/Production Manager), Tony Lauro (Costume Designer), Matt Guminski (Lighting Designer), Dennis Munroe (Sound Designer), David Towlin (Production Manager), Lauri Gagnon (Properties Mistress), Melissa Mereyles (Stage Manager) and Jason Helias (Technical Director/Master Electrician).

The show is a double theatrical homecoming of sorts for Exeter native Lyndsay Becker. Ms. Becker performed in The Barrow Group Theatre production of ALMOST, MAINE following its successful off Broadway run, and this is her first performance in her home area since 2002.
