Red And Shorty's Hosts Songwriters In The Round

Songwriters in the Round at Red and Shorty's will be hosted by Joel Glenn Wixson, "the Barefoot Guy." It is an opportunity for songwriters of all levels to come together, share songs, and get support and inspiration. This is the first meeting of the Songwriters in the Round, but it will take place the third Wednesday of each month. Red and Shorty's is a relaxed, intimate environment and a perfect space for songwriters to connect, collaborate, or just get some encouragement.

Joel Glenn Wixson is a singer/songwriter living in Kittery, ME. He has been a songwriter and musician since he was nine. He has played at many venues across the region, and performed in the streets from Portland Maine, to Portland Oregon. His favorite busking spot is the Vaughan Mall in Portsmouth, where he plays every Wednesday afternoon all year long. For him, street performing is the most intimate and personal way to share the message of his music; There is always hope. He latest CD "It Gets Easier" was released in December, 2017, and is available on Bandcamp. His new CD "What I Know Now," will be out later this summer. He is also proud to do an annual Christmas show at the Press Room in Portsmouth, NH.
