Palace Theatre Announces Teen Company and Apprentice Teen Company Auditions 9/24

By:

The Palace Theatre will hold Palace Teen Company and Palace Apprentice Company auditions on Thursday, September 2 at 6 p.m. and on Saturday, September 4 at 11 a.m.

All individuals between the ages of 12 - 18 are welcome to audition for the programs. Please prepare 16 bars of music that best highlight your voice and wear comfortable clothing for a dance audition. The dance portion of the audition will be held first. After the dance portion is completed individuals will be seen based on the order on the sign up sheet.

To sign up for an audition, call the Palace Theatre box office at 603-668-5588. Rehearsals for the 2010 fall semester will be on Mondays and Wednesdays. Teen Company dance class will be on Saturdays and the Apprentice Company dance classes will be on Sundays.

An extension of the Palace Youth Theatre (PYT), the Palace Theatre is proud to offer the Palace Teen Company and Palace Apprentice Company for ages 12-18.

The Palace Teen Company and Apprentice Teen Company are two programs designed for students who wish to pursue theatre performance beyond high school. Members receive extensive musical theatre training through acting, singing, and dance classes and workshops, as well as audition training and performance experience.

All students participate in a rigorous audition process twice a year to be considered for membership. Auditions are scheduled prior to each three-month semester, with current members required to re-audition each semester. Members then receive a weekly musical theatre dance class in addition to weekly rehearsals. Both companies will have the opportunity to perform in a November show.

The groups were formed to offer dedicated teenagers an opportunity to hone their musical theatre skills in all areas including acting, singing and dancing.

Tuition for each semester is $400 and covers all dance classes, rehearsals and workshops.
