Bryan Knowlton to Helm Seacoast Repertory Theatre's A CHORUS LINE

By:

The Seacoast Repertory Theatre has announced the start of its 25th Anniversary Season with A Chorus Line. This multiple Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning musical is being directed and choreographed by Bryan Knowlton, a Portsmouth native who grew up on The Rep stage and went on to perform in the Broadway revival of A Chorus Line. With that kind of talent The Rep's 2013 Mainstage season opener is sure to be the hottest ticket in town. "I went onto college, toured the country in three first nationals (Broadway tours), got my equity card and landed a starring role on Broadway" says Knowlton. "But, it was here at The Rep, through my teachers, friends and mentors that I found the love for theatre."

A Chorus Line is a realistic look at the life of dancers auditioning for a small chorus role on Broadway. But a small role can take a big toll when the director wants more than to see them dance and sing: he wants each person to tell their own life story. What should have been a run of the mill audition becomes a weaving of personal revelations and a whirlwind of emotions. The stories are taken from real-world theatre experiences and each tale is a testament to the struggle that all performers face.

The cast of A Chorus Line is drawn largely from the New York City theatre community along with local Seacoast favorites. This talented group of performers features Michelle Aravena who plays the role of Cassie. Aravena was also on Broadway with Knowlton in A Chorus Line, and has been with the show for many years. The rest of the cast includes: Alex Acevedo (Richie), Christina Carlucci (Val), Corrine Tork (Diana), Craig Faulkner (Zach), Emily Blake Anderson (Judy), Erik Magnus (Larry), James Lynch (Bobby), Joshua Paul Moore (Butch/Swing), Kelsey Walston (Bebe), Knate Higgins (Roy/Swing), Lenni Kmiek (Kristine), Mary Page Nance (Sheila), Michael Phillips (Paul), Michael D'Amico (Al), Sara Dulcos (Tricia/Swing), Will Meredith (Mark), and Yoav Levin (Mike).

A Chorus Line runs March 1st-March 24th Thursday-Sunday. Tickets are $20-$42. To purchase tickets please contact the box office at 125 Bow Street Portsmouth, NH 03801. By Phone at 603.433.4472, or online at www.seacoastrep.org. Please be advised that A Chorus Line contains adult subject matter and strong language. Parent discretion is advised.
