John Chaffin's brand new comic mystery - The Butler Done It - debuts at Chaffin's Barn Diner Theatre's mainstage on Thursday, April 29, directed by Martha Wilkinson. The Butler Done It runs through June 5.

In Chaffin's comedy, an inept private detective (whose car breaks down on a lonely stretch of country road late at night in a rain storm) seeks shelter in a secluded country mansion, only to be greeted at the door by a beautiful yet strange young woman - and a corpse lying on the foyer floor. It's the butler and hes been stabbed to death!

Wilkinson describes the play as a "1940s-style spoof of the Bob Hope era comic mysteries. You'll love this hysterical heapin' helpin of whodunit!"

The cast for this uproarious comedy includes: Lydia Bushfield (last seen in Rumors on the MainStage and An Evening with Sherlock Holmes in Chaffin's Backstage at the Barn), Ben Dawson (last seen in Rumors), Stephanie LaMura (returning to Chaffin's after a brief break taking care of her new baby boy) Tammie Whited (last seen in Blithe Spirit), Charlie Winton (last seen in There Goes the Bride) and Derek Whittaker (last seen as David O Selznick in Frankly My Dear).

Performances of The Butler Done It are Tuesday through Saturday evenings, with the buffet served from 6 to 7:30 p.m., with curtain at 8 p.m. Two senior matinees are scheduled for Thursday, May 6 and 13, with the house opening at 11 a.m., with the show at noon. A special Mother's Day matinee is set for Sunday, May 9, with the buffet served from noon to 1:30 p.m. and curtain at 2 p.m.
