Street Theatre Presents ALTAR BOYZ, 9/2-9/24
The musical comedy and critically-acclaimed hit of the New York Musical Theatre Festival, ALTAR BOYZ, is a hilarious musical comedy about a fictitious Christian boy-band (with one nice Jewish boy) on the last night of their national 'Raise the Praise' tour. The Boyz are five all-singing, all-dancing heartthrobs from Ohio: Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham. With their tight harmonies and spectacular choreography, the ALTAR BOYZ will delight audiences. Directed and choreographed by Bakari King, who choreographed STC's critically acclaimed production of Hairspray, expect to feel like you are at a Back Street Boys or ‘N Sync concert! With songs like, "The Rhythm in Me," "La Vida Eternal," and "Church Rulez," get ready for a rafter-raising good time.
The performance features heartthrobs Michael Holder, Alan Smith, Humberto Figueroa, Taylor Casey and Patrick James. Performances are September 2-24, with performances Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., and Sundays at 5 p.m. Tickets are $16 and $14 and are available online at www.streettheatrecompany.org. The run features special events including a student night where tickets are only $10, a Starving Artist night that is pay-what-you-can-afford, and a "talk-back" night, where the audience is invited to stay after the show and talk with the cast and crew.
