Pull-Tight Players Host Prelude Event W/Cast of JOSEPH 4/8
Pull-Tight members and the general public are invited to our next Prelude event on Thursday, April 8, at 7:00 pm at the theatre. Dr. Steve Cook will speak on "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat: Egypt, the Bible, and Popular Culture." The cast of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will open the Prelude with a brief scene from the show, followed by Dr. Cook's talk and discussion with the audience. The Prelude should last approximately one hour and is free.
Pull-Tight's Prelude Series offers audiences a broader understanding of each Pull-Tight Main Season show by exploring an interesting aspect of the show with an expert. Preludes have served both as an introduction to Pull-Tight and our shows and as educational outreach to our community.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat tells the story of the Biblical saga of Joseph and his "coat of many colors." The story comes to vibrant life in this delightful musical parable. As usual, One More Productions has placed their own spin on it and offers this musical in a "Glam Rock" concert style. Add a score from Sir Andrew Loydd Webber, lyrics by famed lyricist Tim Rice, eleven dancing brothers, twelve dancing wives, a pharaoh, sequins and disco-you know that you are bound to have the night of your life!
Nominated for over a half-dozen Tony Awards, this show is a favorite for audiences and critics alike.
