Final Performance for Nashville Ballet's AMERICAN ORIGINALS, 2/14

By:

Nashville Ballet presents three American original dances Valentine's weekend, February 12-14, 2010. This repertory program pays homage to some of the greatest American classics. Three ballets will be performed each evening: A Nashville premiere of the 1938 Filling Station, choreographed by Lew Christensen; a rare comedic marvel which follows the lively activities of a busy day at the filling station. Enjoy the antics of the madcap customers who prance in and out of Mac's station. Secondly, Paul Vasterling's romantic, introspective ballet, Awaiting Redemption, featuring the music of Hal Ketchum sung by Neal Coomer, and last but not least, celebrating the golden age of Broadway with the unforgettable music of George Gershwin in Balanchine's whimsical Who Cares?, featuring some of Gershwin's best known hits such as "I Got Rhythm," "Strike Up the Band," and "Embraceable You."

Ticket prices range from $77.00 to $23.00 and Student Rush tickets are available ninety minutes before each performance for $15 with a valid college ID.

American Originals Polk Theater at Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) February 12-14, 2010
