Nashville Ballet Artist Director Paul Vasterling will speak briefly about the correlation of pairing dance technique with emotion, creating authentic characters, and connecting emotionally with the audience through movement, as a prelude to the premiere of La Danse at the Belcourt Theatre Friday, January 22, 2010 before the 7:10 film opens (tentative time, please check Belcourt website for exact show times).

All audience members will be given a complimentary voucher to attend a Ballet class at the School of Nashville Ballet for only $5.00. La Danse, a documentary, follows the production of seven ballets by the Paris Opera Ballet. The director of this film, Frederick Wiseman, takes you through all the nooks and crannies of the Paris Opera Ballet. This film has captured audiences around the world with its in-depth look at how working at the art of dance is truly a work of art itself.

Nashville Ballet Artistic Director Paul Vasterling says, "This film reflects the work we do everyday at Nashville Ballet and I am thrilled that La Danse, which has brought attention to ballet at an international level, will be showcased at the Belcourt." La Danse will run at the Belcourt Theatre January 22-27, 2010.
