This Saturday, May 22, Laura Bell Bundy is scheduled to make her debut at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN. However, due to the recent Tennessee floods, Bundy's debut will take place at a temporary venue --- The War Memorial Auditorium. The Auditorium is one of the three alternate sites being used during the ongoing flood renovations.

The Auditorium was once host of the Opry; from 1939-1943. Since the first week in May, the Grand Ole Opry House has been shut down due to overflowing by the Cumberland River. Re-opening of the venue is unknown at this time.

Marty Stuart, Chris Young, and Suzy Boggess were all forced to perform in the auditorium due the extreme flood damage. Bundy will perform songs from her latest album, "Achin and 'Shakin'. She will be joined by Charley Pride, John Conlee, Bill Anderson and Kathy Mattea.

Laura Bell Bundy's major label debut album Achin' And Shakin' was released on April 13 on Mercury Nashville. The infectious lead single "Giddy On Up" has been described as "a breath of fresh air" and "nothing short of a new female anthem" amongst industry critics since the premiere of the music video on January 18.

Laura Bell Bundy has been performing lead and feature roles in New York and in Regional Theater since the age of nine. She is most familiar to Broadway audiences for originating the roles of Elle Woods in Legally Blonde: The Musical, and Amber Von Tussle in the Tony Award winning musical, Hairspray, as well as a stint as Glinda in the smash hit, Wicked. In addition to her work in the theater, Ms. Bundy has also appeared as Marah Lewis in "Guiding Light" from 1999-2001 as well as guest appearances on "Cold Case," "Veronica Mars," and Comedy Central's "Strangers With Candy." She can also be found in such films as Dreamgirls, Life With Mickey and Jumanji. She covers everything from rockabilly to Dixie-flavored pop on her debut CD, Longing for a Place Already Gone, which she co-wrote and co-produced.
