Keeton Theatre preps LEND ME A TENOR for 1/28 opening night

Larry Keeton Theatre favorite Ron Cushman directs Ken Ludwig's Lend Me A Tenor, running January 28 through February 13 at the Donelson theater.

Set in 1934, Ludwig's hit comedy tells the tale of "Tito Mirelli" a world famous opera tenor who has been commissioned to perform at the Cleveland Grand Opera for its tenth anniversary. Once he arrives, everything begins to unravel. His wife leaves him, he is mistaken for dead and the opera's stage manager "Max" has to go on in his place. Throw in a cast of wacky characters, a slew of mistaken identities and more slamming doors than you can count and you have an evening of high energy comedy that will leave you laughing for days.

"I have always loved the comedies of the '30s and '40s and directing this show gives me the chance to share my love with the audience," Cushman explained.

Lend me a Tenor features the Keeton Theatre debuts of several actors, including Gari Lynne a former New York actress and comedienne in the role of Diana, with Patrick Goedicke as the ill-fated tenor Tito Mirelli, and Miriam Truax as Maggie. Other cast members include Larry Rhodes as Mr. Saunders, Drewann Borsos as Maria Mirelli, Eileen Lowery as Julia, Neil Bergman as Max and Saburi Johnson as the bell hop.

Lend me a Tenor runs January 28 through February 13 with performances on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. each performance is preceded by a delicious three-course meal starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are $26 for dinner and show and $21 for show only with a special show only price of $11 on Thursday nights only.

The three-course meal, served prior to the show will consist of garden salad with Italian dressing, chicken parmesan, spaghetti, Italian style green beans, breadstick and Italian lemon cream pie, tea and coffee. Vegetarian and salmon options are available for an additional $5.00.

The Larry Keeton Theatre is operated by The Senior Center for the Arts, a non-profit corporation and a wholly-owned subsidiary of FiftyForward and is located at 108 Donelson Pike in the FiftyForward Donelson Station building.
