HPAC Presents ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, Beg. Tonight

By:

The Hendersonville Performing Arts Company (formerly known as The Steeple Players" presents their next production, the Broadway Musical, Irving Berlin's "Annie Get Your Gun" opening tonight, February 13th and running through March 3rd with performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 and on Saturday and Sunday at 2:00. There will be an additional performance at 7:30 on Sunday, March 3rd.

Annie Oakley, a poor, but spirited and happy, country girl who lives by her native sharp-shooting which quickly makes her the star of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show where she meets and falls in love with expert rifleman Frank Butler. Unfortunately, the tough, outspoken Annie is not Frank's idea of what a wife should be and the two remain at competitive odds. Then Annie is initiated into an Indian tribe whose Chief, Sitting Bull, gives her some good advice: only by deliberately, but discreetly, losing a shooting contest can she win Frank. Annie does so and the show ends with the exuberant climax "There's No Business Like Show Business". The show also includes other wonderful song's that you are sure to want to sing along with, such as, "Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better, "The Sun in the Morning and the Moon at Night" and "You Can't Get A Man With A Gun!"

"Annie Get Your Gun" will be performed at The Hendersonville Performing Arts Company located at 260 West Main Street, Suite 204 in Hendersonville. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $10 for children and students of all ages.
