Written 117 years ago, by Oscar Wilde, the play takes us into the world of two young gentlemen living in 1890's England who have taken to bending the truth about an invented brother named Earnest in order to put some excitement into their lives. Things start to go awry when their deceptions are discovered - threatening to spoil their romantic pursuits. "Wilde captures the shallow foolishness of giddy lovers, snobs, social climbers; the overprivileged, the overeducated, and the overindulgent." - NY Theatre.
Ages: Appropriate for older students and adults.
