Run For Your Wife is a superb example of British farce. It is the story of a London cab driver, John Smith, who has two wives, two lives and a very precise schedule for juggling them both. Because of an accident too complicated to explain, his worlds collide and the police are called in to investigate. Complication is piled upon complication as the cabby works tirelessly and hilariously to keep his suspicious wives from running into each other and to keep all of his stories together. Lyceum Artistic Director and Director of Run For Your Wife, says, "A comedy more often then not, deals with extraordinary or unusual people in commonplace situations. Farce, however deals with the reverse: common people in impossibly strange situations."
