Broadway showstoppers highlight Alpine Theatre Project’s new production of The World Goes ‘Round, running August 11 – 23 at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center. The sleek and stylish music concert celebrates the music of John Kander and Fred Ebb, and features a cast full of seasoned Broadway performers.
“No one has written more showstoppers than John Kander and Fred Ebb,” says director Betsi Morrison, who is also performing in the production. “They’ve created some of Broadway and Hollywood’s wittiest, sexiest and most memorable songs.” Morrison is referring to the numerous Broadway hits penned by the famous duo, including “All That Jazz,” “Maybe This Time,” “Cabaret,” “How Lucky Can You Get,” and “New York, New York.” Morrison promises The World Goes ‘Round will be a stylish concert filled with Broadway glitz.“I drew a lot of inspiration from the concerts of Liza Minelli, who was the foremost singer of Kander and Ebb tunes,” says Morrison. “It’s going to be big, splashy fun.”
