Gladstone Amphitheatre Presents Middle School Melody May 15

By: May. 10, 2011

The Gladstone Amphitheatre proudly presents Dr. Stephen Pelkey, Orchestra Director, Antioch Middle School and his "Middle School Melody".

Dr. Pelkey came to Antioch Middle School ten years ago and immediately started the Middle School Melody also known as the FJ Group (Fiddle/Jazz Group). You may have seen and heard them before as they have performed in the Gladfest and Snake Saturday Parades, Shoal Creek Harvest
Festival, Scottish Festival and at various gatherings as requested. The group consists of students in grades 6 through 8. Their favorite repertoire consists of over 60 tunes covering genres such as Old Tyme, Irish, Scottish and Jazz favorites.

They will be performing on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gladstone Amphitheatre. Joining them on stage for a few pieces and some of their own, will be a group new to us called the Celli Beans. This group was founded and is conducted by Kristi Knecht.

All events at the Gladstone Amphitheatre are free so bring your blankets and chairs; sit under the stars in our beautiful Oak Grove Park and enjoy the variety of outdoor entertainment we are offering for the 2011 season. All events are family friendly and open to audiences of all ages. For more information, visit our website at www.gladstone.mo.us or contact us at (816) 423-4091.

In case of inclement weather, call (816) 437-2489, option #4.
