The Duluth Playhouse presents LA CAGE AUX FOLLES!

This high spirited and high struttin' musical comedy will absolutely tickle audiences!

After twenty years of unwedded bliss, partners-for-life Georges and Albin are surprised to learn their son is suddenly engaged! To please their son, the two men attempt to "fit in" by hiding their lifestyle and play it straight for a dinner with the potential in-laws. However, Albin's different definition of "normal" threatens to upend the entire supper with hilarious results in this funny and fabulous musical.

The winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Musical (1984) and Best Revival of a Musical (2005 & 2010), this musical remains one of Broadway's all-time biggest hits. This raucous musical was also made into a movie called The Birdcage, starring Nathan Lane and Robin Williams.

An entertaining night of complications, chaos and a tender triumph of love, The Playhouse welcomes Twin Cities guest artist Tod Petersen to the stage for the first time and is directed by returning guest director Michael Matthew Ferrell.

"This show encourages us to embrace our differences and open our hearts and minds to those things that are not familiar and sometimes make us uncomfortable. It shows us clearly, that in the end, love always prevails," says director Michael Ferrell.
