Northrop to Present Free DESSA Concert for U of M Students, 10/4

Northrop Presents will present a free concert for U of M students on Fri. Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m. feat DESSA, and opener Taj Raj at Northrop Plaza.

Don't miss Dessa, one of hip-hop's most diverse and talented artists! This U of M graduate and Doomtree veteran combines wit, tenderness, and poetic sensibility to rare effect.

Dessa has little left to prove to us Minnesotans. She's achieved immense national recognition with the release of her newest album, Parts of Speech. Back on her old college stomping grounds, Dessa will deliver a raw and expressive show right on the Northrop Plaza.

Opening for Dessa is Taj Raj, an indie/folk rock band that loosely binds a collection of late 70's roots-pop, tear-in-my-beer country, and new folk rock to create a sound that is strangely familiar yet entirely their own.
