Minnesota Dance Theatre Announces 2010-11 Performance Season

Minnesota Dance Theatre (MDT) announces its 2010-11 performance season, which kicks off this October at the Lab Theater. This season MDT will offer for the first time a fall and spring dance festival with two weekends of different programming for each event. The 2010-11 season will highlight three world premieres, two MDT premieres and selections from the MDT repertory.
The performance season opens with Enduring Prescience, a double-program festival showcasing newly commissioned work by New York-based choreographer Emery LeCrone and company dancer and 2009 McKnight fellowship recipient Justin Leaf. Enduring Prescience will feature two works by Elisa Monte as well as MDT founder Loyce Houlton.Returning to the State Theatre this December is Loyce Houlton's Nutcracker Fantasy, featuring a 44-piece orchestra conducted by Philip Brunelle. This production has drawn over 1.4 million audience members in its 46-year history, making it the longest running arts event in Minnesota.The Lab Theater
