Theatre in the Round Players (TRP) continues its 67th season with Jon Hassler's Grand Opening, in weekend performances from October 12 through November 4, 2018.
12-year-old Brendan Foster begins the story in 1945, when his parents decide to leave Minneapolis and buy a run-down grocery store in rural Minnesota. There, his family comes to know the virtues - and the dark side - of living in a small town. Grand
Opening is the most autobiographical work by famed writer Jon Hassler, known for Staggerford, Simon's Night, and other novels about small-town life in Minnesota.
David Metcalf directs the 15-member cast, with sets designed by Greg Vanselow, costumes by Carolann Winther, and lighting by Dick Borgen.
An audience discussion with members of the company will follow the matinee performance on Sunday, October 21.
Tickets are $22. For information, call the theatre's box office at 612-333-3010 or visit its website at www.TheatreintheRound.org.
