Collide Announces ROMEO AND JULIET, Brooklyn Style - 4/11

By:

COLLIDE presents a modern-day version of Shakespeare's classic love story. Set in Brooklyn in the year 2000, the bare-knuckle world of New York City politics has created a blood feud between the Montague and Capulet families that has endured for generations, always simmering just below the surface and occasionally erupting into public view, sometimes with tragic consequences. The production features eleven professional dancers, two vocalists, original Shakespearean text and a four-string quartet playing popular music hits from artists such as Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, and U2.

COLLIDE is a performing arts company dedicated to creating new works that are rooted in classical Musical Theater Jazz Dance and inspired by the influences of Jerome Robbins and Bob Fosse. COLLIDE brings together Twin Cities dancers, musicians, vocalists, actors, spoken word artists, playwrights, choreographers and directors to create original Broadway-style theatrical works.

Performances for Romeo and Juliet are set for Thursday April 10 7:30pm (Preview), Friday April 11 7:30pm (Opening), Saturday April 12 4:00 & 7:30pm, Sunday April 13 3:00pm, Wednesday April 16 10:00am (School Matinee), Thursday April 17 7:30pm, Friday April 18 7:30pm, Saturday April 19 4:00 & 7:30pm, and Sunday April 20 7:00pm.
