Caroline Beach, a NEW YORK CHOREOGRAPHIC INSTITUTE talent, will be in Minneapolis through July 31, 2009 creating a world premiere work in her first commission with Minnesota Dance Theatre (MDT).

Founded in the Spring of 2000 by Irene Diamond and Peter Martins, the New York Choreographic Institute promotes the development of choreographers and dancers involved in classical choreography by providing opportunities to develop their talents. Selected participants of the Institute are chosen based on their experience and potential.

The rehearsal/creative process of Beach's new work Under the Sun to the piece "Shakers Loops" by Pulitzer Prize-winning American composer John Adams. Under the Sun will premiere in MDT's production Contemporary Voices at The Lab Theater, September 18-20, 2009.

The mission of Minnesota Dance Theatre & the Dance Institute is to create masterful and provocative dance performances which entertain and inspire audiences, and to foster talent by providing a comprehensive classical and contemporary training curriculum focused on the technical and artistic demands of a professional career.
