Doctor Faustus Lights the Lights at Calvary Presbyterian Church, Sanctuary Hall

Wisconsin Classic Stage presents the Milwaukee professional premiere of Gertrude Stein's experimental operetta, an immersive 360-degree ritual of light, live monophonic score, and incantatory language. Faustus has traded his soul for artificial light, living in endless illumination attended by a dog and a boy, until a woman named Marguerite Ida and Helena Annabel comes seeking healing. The production features Antonio Parra Jr. as Doctor Faustus, Evan Smolik as Mephisto, and Dylana Bauduin and Esther Akinsanya as Marguerite Ida and Helena Annabel. Capped at 75 audience members a night, the piece is directed, designed and illuminated by Cole Castine with a score by composer Lincoln Donner.
