The Waukesha Civic Theatre will display the work of Dawn Farina and Ramona Audley from April 2nd to May 20th in the Waukesha State Bank Art Gallery. There will be an art crawl on May 4th.

Anyone who knows Dawn Farina knows of her love for color? the way colors influence each other and play off each other, the way light transforms color and brings it to life.

Though her affinity for art goes back as far as she can remember, it was not until 15 years ago the Dawn discovered her true passion of glass artistry. Since that time Dawn's talent has evolved into a style best described as an unconventional fusion of staiNed Glass and mosaic art.

But ultimately Dawn is known for her never-ending need to be unique. She strives to be different and looks for ways to create the unusual. Her work is always from the heart, unique and contemporary.

Dawn's inspiration could come from anywhere. Everything she sees is seen through an artists' eye. The shape of a scrap piece of glass on the workbench, the way the light streams in or a walk in the woods, conversing with her creator. The Christian imagery of her childhood has always moved her. Dawn says, "God has inspired the passion in my heart and allowed me to use my own uniqueness in my creations."

A typical day for Dawn will find her suddenly struck by inspiration and rushing to her studio. Occasionally she'll make what seems to be a mistake, but she'll find she likes the new approach and she creates a whole new item around it. That's part of the inspiration of design in Dawn's pieces. There just are no mistakes!

Ramona Audley is 100 percent art. This quick-witted, creative woman is a retired educator, mother of six world class children, and grandmother of 5. Recycler of broken and discarded objects, and guardian of two high I.Q. cats. A lover of nature and the world around her. She has a gift for seeing beauty in unlikely places and sharing it with others. Her love of bright colors and her engaging sense of humor make her work instantly recognizable and will bring a smile to all that view it. Ramona's unique artwork can be found in galleries in Illinois, Louisiana, California, Colorado, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida, Michigan, and Minnesota. She has international fans in Germany, France, and Canada.
