Unruly Music continues its 4-year run of producing virtuoso performances of postclassical music on October 7-9 at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts' Vogel Hall. Spanning a wide variety of genres and styles, the series explores contemporary trends in chamber music, improvisation, and electronic sound. Unruly Music is directed by composer Christopher Burns, and is a co-production of the Peck School of the Arts at UWM and the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.

Running from October 7-9, the Fall festival program includes:

Thursday, October 7, 7:30 pm
Milwaukee Laptop Orchestra - Titanic
Performing George Lewis and Marina Rosenfeld's new collaborative work Sour Mash, new compositions by Amanda Schoofs and Greg Surges, and Gavin Bryars' classic The Sinking of the Titanic, an imagining of the sound of the sinking ocean liner as heard echoing from underwater.

Friday, October 8, 7:30 pm
Matthew Burtner - Oceans/Elements
Composer and saxophonist Matthew Burtner presents a recital of music for soprano saxophone and natural elements such as water, wind, and sand, investigating environmental issues and the relationships between sound, human activity, and nature.

Saturday, October 9, 7:30 pm
Olivia Block
Chicago composer and sound artist Olivia Block presents an evening of her work combining piano, field recordings, found objects, and electronic sounds.
