The Gift Theatre Announces TEN, Opening 1/5

The Gift will produce a festival of short pieces written specifically for The Gift by artists whose work they have produced over the past ten years--ten World Premieres by Ensemble Members Maggie Andersen, Jenny Connell, Andrew Hinderaker, William Nedved, Natural Gas and guest playwrights Eric Bogosian, Caitlin Montanye Parrish, David Rabe, JT Rogers and Craig Wright. We are ecstatic about kicking off our 10th Anniversary season in such a monumental fashion.

Andrew Hinderaker explores Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, David Rabe introduces us to estranged brothers, Eric Bogosian illuminates the relationship of an aging man and his barista, Maggie Andersen reads a chapter from her memoir about the early days of The Gift, and Craig Wright wonders about the ghosts of the theater. 

Featuring Gift Ensemble Members Maggie Andersen, Brittany Burch, John Kelly Connolly, Paul D’Addario, Brendan Donaldson, Ed Flynn, Lynda Newton, Michael Patrick Thornton and Jay Worthington with guest artists Cyd Blackwell, Jack Bronis, Jillian Burfete, Anna Carini, Boyd Harris, Mike Harvey, Joey Lesiak, Warren Levon, Guy Massey, Morgan McCabe, Jose Nateras, Andy Neiman, Carly Olson, John Pantlind, Aemilia Scott, Skylar Shrempp and Kyle Zornes.

Directed by Gift Ensemble Members Maggie Andersen, Paul D’Addario, Ed Flynn, Michael Patrick Thornton and guest artists Keira Fromm, Hallie Gordon, Marti Lyons, Matt Schwader and Erica Weiss.

Ten will run January 5-15, 2012 and is absolutely free. There are only ten shows. Tickets are available immediately for subscribers and to the public on January 1, 2012. Show times are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm with Saturday matinees at 4:00 and Sunday matinees at 2:30.
