Vagabond Players Present Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks, Closes 2/6

The Vagabond Players begins 2011 with a true "Dancing with the Stars" experience. The Vagabond Theatre, located in historic Fells Point, is delighted to present the Baltimore premier of Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks, written by Richard Alfieri and directed by Roy Hammond. The production closes February 6.

Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks is a touching and human comedy about an aging but still formidable widow of a Southern Baptist minister who hires an acerbic dance instructor to give her private dance lessons at her condo in St. Petersburg Beach, Florida.

Antagonism between the two gives way to profound compatibility as they swing dance, tango, waltz, foxtrot and cha-cha while sharing more than dance steps - loyalty, compassion and most of all friendship. A comedy with music and dance, the play also addresses the serious issues of ageism and intolerance. The very talented Joan Crooks and Eric Stein star in this stimulating new play that has entertained audiences on Broadway and around the world.
