Two Holiday Shows to Play in Rep at Two Muses Theatre, 12/6-22

By:

Yes, you CAN have your fruitcake and eat it too. Two Muses Theatre, a nonprofit, professional theatre based in West Bloomfield, Michigan, will produce two holiday shows in repertory this December.

Matinees are for families, with a staging of 'Twas The Night Before Christmas written by popular Broadway playwright, Ken Ludwig, in which the famous poem is a springboard to tell the story of a Jewish elf, a mouse, and a little girl who join forces to save Christmas. Evening performances will be family-friendly as well (suitable for the non-believers-and-older crowd), with Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!) by Michael Carleton, Jim FitzGerald and John K. Alvarez - a madcap romp covering the usual holiday stories (such as Frosty, Rudolf, Charlie Brown, The Grinch, etc.) in very unusual ways. Act Two of this funny play finds three incredibly energetic actors playing all the characters in an irreverent mash-up of It's a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol.

The holiday shows will be presented for three weekends, December 6 through December 22, at the Two Muses Theatre space inside the West Bloomfield Barnes & Noble. Performances of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas will take place on Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 2pm, and the hilarious Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!) will occupy the theater in the evenings, on Friday and Saturday nights at 8pm and Sunday evenings at 6pm.

Two Muses Theatre performs in the 150-seat theater inside the Barnes & Noble Booksellers, located at 6800 Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfield (south of Maple). Individual tickets range from $10 to $25 with savings for groups, seniors and students, along with a discounted family four pack for 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. There is ample free parking and handicap accessibility. For tickets and information, call 248-850-9919 or visit www.twomusestheatre.org.
