The Berman Center for the Performing Arts is pleased to welcome the professional chamber orchestra, The Sphinx Virtuosi at 6 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016. Tickets (starting at $10) are on sale now at theberman.org.
The Sphinx Virtuosi, led by the Catalyst Quartet, is one of the nation's most dynamic professional chamber orchestras. Comprising 18 of the nation's top Black and Latino classical soloists, these alumni of the internationally renowned Sphinx Competition perform as cultural ambassadors to reach new audiences.
They have been described as "first rate in every way" by Allan Kozinn of The New York Times, who also said "the ensemble produced a more beautiful, precise and carefully shaped sound than some fully professional orchestras that come through Carnegie Hall." The Sphinx Virtuosi is sponsored by The Mandell and Madeleine H. Berman Foundation.
To purchase tickets, please visit The Berman from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday, or call 248.661.1900. To purchase tickets 24 hours a day visit theberman.org.
The Berman Center for the Performing Arts is located at the Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit, D. Dan & Betty Kahn Building | Eugene & Marcia Applebaum Jewish Community Campus at 6600 W. Maple Rd., West Bloomfield, MI 48322.
