Life is not a dress rehearsal...unless that's all it is.

Slipstream proudly presents Chekhov's The Seagull, a play about the way artists destroy themselves and each other, all for the sake of the art. The company brings its third season to a close by presenting the classic as a voyeuristic examination of the characters we are and the characters we build.

The cast is lead by Kaitlyn Valor Bourque and Maxim Vinogradov as Nina and Constantin. Mandy Logsdon and technical director Ryan Ernst form the tumultuous duo of Arkadina and Trigorin, while Jackson Abohasira and Tiaja Sabrie step into the roles of the unhappily married Masha and Medvedenko. Completing the cast are Steve Xander Carson and Victoria Rose Weatherspoon as "The Directors." The set is designed by Ryan Ernst, who also designs the lights. The costumes and direction are by Bailey Boudreau, with Victoria Rose Weatherspoon serving as assistant director.

Join us during the heart of the rehearsal process, as the actors work together to explore The Seagull and the vivid personalities it contains. By heightening the connections between creator and creation the stakes become dire as the team works towards the famous dramatic finale of Anton Chekhov's ageless comedy. Can the line between reality and fiction be blurred enough to cross?

The production runs July 22nd through August 13th. Performance dates vary by week, so be sure to check the dates on the website when buying tickets. Tickets are $12 in advance only and available via www.slipstreamti.com or by emailing InsideTheSlipstream@gmail.com . Slipstream Theatre Initiative is located at 460 Hilton in Ferndale.
