The Purple Rose Theatre Company is proud to present the third World Premiere of the 20th anniversary season this spring: Some Couples May... by Carey Crim. The production will enjoy a ten-week engagement from Thursday, March 24 through Saturday, May 28, 2011. Seven low-price previews of Some Couples May... will be performed from Thursday, March 24, through Thursday, March 31, with Press Opening on Friday, April 1, 2011. Regular performances for the duration of the engagement are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8:00 pm with Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 3:00 pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00 pm. All performances are held at The Purple Rose Theatre Company, 137 Park Street, Chelsea, Michigan 48118.

Some Couples May... is a bittersweet comedy that charts one woman's journey with her family through the challenges and heartbreak of infertility to the promise of motherhood. The story will be a familiar one to many: a couple struggling with the possibility of infertility, finding a way to bring a child into their lives. It promises to be an adventure into the humor and the heartbreak of one of life's most insistent questions: to be, or not to be, a parent. Some Couples May... contains strong language and sexual situations.

Purple Rose artistic director Guy Sanville will direct Alex Leydenfrost (Ann Arbor, MI), Michelle Mountain (Chelsea MI), Aphrodite Nikolovski (Birmingham, MI), Jim Porterfield (Northville, MI), Jan Radcliff (Farmington Hills, MI), Rhiannon Ragland (Flint, MI) and Bill Simmons (Indianapolis, IN). Design for Some Couples May... includes set by Vincent Mountain, properties by Danna Segrest, costumes by Christianne Myers, lighting by Dana White and sound by Quintessa Gallinat. Stephanie Buck stage manages.

Founded in 1991 by acclaimed actor and Chelsea-native Jeff Daniels, The Purple Rose Theatre Company is a leading American theatre dedicated to producing the new American play and creating opportunities for Midwest theatre professionals. The PRTC is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit theatre operating under a Small Professional Theatre agreement with the Actors' Equity Association. The PRTC promotes the development of new American theatre and its practitioners, provides valuable educational opportunities for young artists, and through consistently high quality production values has earned the respect of both local and National Theatre communities.
