Planet Ant Theatre presents a reboot of its 2014 original one-act horror spoof, The Dogman Prophecies, with a new prequel, Dogman Rising, in a "Dogman Double Feature" running Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm,September 28 through October 13; with a Sunday performance onSeptember 16 at 6pm. Tickets are $20 and available online or in person at the Planet Ant Box Office, starting 30 minutes prior to show time. Tickets for opening night and the Sunday performance are half-off.

The Dogman Prophecies was inspired by the actual northern Michigan legend of a mysterious creature with the shape of a large dog but who walked on his hind legs like a man. Sightings of the Michigan Dogman date back too 1887. The 2014 version of the show was the final product of a group of Planet Ant students who were learning the venerable theater's process for using improvisation to generate material and to develop it into a larger, more comprehensive scripted work.

The Dogman Prophecies tells the story of Billy Becker and his quest to find the Michigan Dogman and... kill him. Billy blames the mythical half-man/half-dog for the murder of his boyhood pet. Along the way, however, Billy gets caught up in the mayhem of a military experiment gone awry, which threatens his quest for justice - and potentially the lives of every person on the planet.

The Dogman Prophecies was originally written by Jon-Mathew Canniff, Jaclynn Cherry, Moni Jones, Clint Lohman and Jason Petterson under the direction of Shawn Handlon. Jaclynn Cherry directs this updated version, which features Michael Duprey, Nate Hudson, Moni Jones, Clint Lohman and Caitlin Shea.

The second production in the Dogman Double Feature is the world premiere of Dogman Rising, an original one-act comedy, inspired by and prequel to The Dogman Prophecies. Dogman Rising follows the story of Rex Lewis, host of a small podcast that chronicles sightings of the Michigan Dogman. During one such podcast, a mysterious fan calls in with a tip that sends Rex on a journey across the midwest to learn the truth about the origin of the Dogman. The journey takes a dangerous turn when Rex encounters resistance from a group of zealots who do not want the truth about the Dogman revealed.

Dogman Rising was written by Jason Petterson and Shawn Handlon. Jason Petterson also directs this production. The cast features Nick Crestwood, Will Curry, Halina Matt, Andi Maziarz, Jon Miller and Sarah Wilder.
