The 30th anniversary season at Performance Network has been dubbed "A very Tony season," with 5 shows on the roster that have been nominated or won the prestigious theatre award. The first of these pedigreed shows is the Michigan Premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies' "Time Stands Still." The drama begins with a pay-what-you-can performance on September 23rd and runs for 21 performances, through October 23rd.

When Sarah, an award-winning photojournalist, returns from Iraq after being injured in a bombing, her hunger to return to harm's way causes a rift in her relationship. When her ex-boyfriend editor shows up with a much younger girlfriend and an offer for a cushy job at home in New York, she must decide whether to return to the front lines or opt for a "normal" life. Filled with insight about the often difficult choices modern couples face, it is a thoughtful and funny look at Americans abroad and at home.

When "Time Stands Still" premiered in February 2009 at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles, Margulies stated that the meaning of the play was "to capture a sense of the way we live now, to dramatize the things that thinking, feeling, moral people are thinking about and struggle with." In January 2010, it opened on Broadway at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre in a Manhattan Theatre Club production, with Laura Linney, Brian d'Arcy James, Eric Bogosian and Alicia Silverstone. Charles Isherwood of The New York Times said "Donald Margulies' finest play since the Pulitzer Prize-winning ‘Dinner With Friends', ‘Time Stands Still' crackles with bright wit and intelligence." It earned two Tony nominations, for Best Play, and Best Actress.

Artistic Director David Wolber said "Ultimately, it is a love story, and one that most people will relate to - the tension of how much you can give to your relationship vs. the drive to play an important role on the larger world stage. When having a fulfilling personal life means giving up the creative spark inside you, the thing that is your calling, what choice do you make? It's a choice that many of us, at some point in our lives, are faced with."

The cast of Michigan all-stars features Suzi Regan ("The Blonde, the Brunette and the Vengeful Redhead"), John Lepard ("Candida"), Hugh Maguire ("The Seafarer") and Heidi Bennett ("Geoffrey & Jeffery"). "Time Stands Still" is directed by Kate Peckham.

Weekly performances are Thursdays at 7:30, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm, with 3pm Saturday matinees on October 8th and 27th.
