Performance Network Theatre Presents SONIA FLEW 9/17-10/17

Performance Network Theatre announces its production of the drama, "Sonia Flew" by Melinda Lopez. Performances will begin September 17 and run through October 17, 2010. "Sonia Flew" is a co-production with the Jewish Ensemble Theatre. It features Sarab Kamoo ("9 Parts of Desire"), Mila Govich ("The Clean House"), Jon Bennett ("Doubt"), Will David Young ("Moonglow"), Christina Flynn and Russ Schwartz.

In the turmoil of revolutionary Cuba, a young girl's parents struggle to keep their family safe. When the father is wrongly implicated as a detractor of Castro, they must make the shattering decision to send her to the US and a better future. Based on the true story of Operation Pedro Pan that transported 14,000 children out of Cuba, "Sonia Flew" chronicles one girl's life from her departure in 1960, through her adulthood in America in 2001.

Weekly performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm, with 3pm matinees on Saturday October 2 and October 16.

Tickets can be ordered at the Performance Network Box Office at 734-663-0681, online at
www.performancenetwork.org or by coming to the Performance Network Theatre (120 East Huron St., Ann Arbor, 48104) Monday-Saturday 11-6 or one hour before a performance. Tickets are priced at $22 - $41, with discounts available for seniors, members, students and groups. Friday, September 17 is the Pay-what-you-can performance with a suggested donation of $10.

Sonia Flew features is directed by Artistic Director David Wolber and will feature scenic design by Monika Essen, Lights by Dan Walker, and costumes by Mary Copenhagen.
