Performance Network Theatre Holds 'Open House Party' 8/28

By: Aug. 06, 2010

Performance Network Theatre announces its first ever "Open House Party," a pay-what-you-can FUNdraiser benefiting Michigan's Premier Professional Theatre. This event is to be held on Saturday, August 28th, from 2-7pm.

PNT will open its doors to the community for back-stage tours of the theatre as well as meet & greet opportunities with PNT staff, and artists. Bring the whole family for a free 5:00 p.m. storytelling program appropriate for all ages presented by the acclaimed LaRon Williams.

The afternoon festivities will also be taken outside with a Block party, held in the PNC Bank parking lot, directly adjacent to the theatre. The party will feature live music and include street vendors selling alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well as foods perfect for summer time.

"We've now been at our downtown location for 10 years, and though we continue to grow each and every season, we know that there are plenty of folks right here in Ann Arbor and Washtenaw County who haven't yet had the opportunity to check us out. Well, this is their opportunity! We're going to be inviting patrons into parts of the theatre that no one except staff members ever get the chance to visit -- everyone gets to be an insider!" said Executive Director Carla Milarch.

"This is probably the best time for us to hold an open house event. Not only are we celebrating 10 years downtown, we're opening a brand new season that is going to take audiences on journeys through time and place. We'll be visiting 18th Century France, Cuba in 1960 and New York City in the roaring 20's. Before embarking on all that travel, we'd like everyone to take a quick lay-over in our own backyard." Said Artistic Director David Wolber

This event is a suggested donation of $5/person. Donations will be accepted at the event. Tickets are not required to attend the "Open House Party."
