'PEKING DREAMS' Brings China to the Wharton Center Tonight

By:

THE NATIONAL CIRCUS AND ACROBATS OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA returns to Wharton Center with their most jaw-dropping and stunning production yet: PEKING DREAMS.

PEKING DREAMS, part of The Doctors Company World Music & Dance Series, will be featured tonight, October 22, in the Cobb Great Hall. Tickets to see PEKING DREAMS are available at the official source to purchase Wharton Center tickets online, whartoncenter.com, at the Auto-Owners Insurance Ticket Office, or by calling 1-800-WHARTON.

PEKING DREAMS is more than just impressive acrobatics: the performance gives audiences a look at a different aspect of Beijing culture and history in each scene. From trapeze tricks, to bicycle stunts, to grand martial arts...the acrobats will soar and tumble across the stage, pushing the boundaries of possibility with every move, all while sharing their great love of The Forbidden City. THE NATIONAL CIRCUS AND ACROBATS OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA was invited to perform PEKING DREAMS at the 2008 Olympic Art Festival in Beijing, an event meant to entertain athletes and visitors. This was a great honor for the troupe, and a testament to the high quality of PEKING DREAMS.

Founded in 1958, THE NATIONAL CIRCUS AND ACROBATS OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA has always been dedicated to excellence and innovation. In fact, the troupe was one of the earliest pioneers of the "non-animal circus." They have produced a variety of excellent acts over the years with a distinctive Chinese flair. The company has performed in more than 50 countries and regions around the world, making great contributions to the role of China's national acrobatic and circus presence on an international level.
