MotorCity Casino Hotel Presents Stanley Clarke Band Featuring Hiromi
MotorCity Casino Hotel is proud to announce the Stanley Clarke Band featuring Hiromi, live at Sound Board on Friday, June 11th at 8:00 p.m.
Stanley Clarke is a jazz musician and composer known for his innovative and influential work on double bass and bass guitar as well as for his numerous film and television scores. Stanley became the first bassist in history to headline tours, selling out shows worldwide, and have his albums certified gold. Stanley began TV scores for ABC's short-lived seeries and an Emmy-nominated score for Pee Wee's Playhouse. Stanley progressed onto the silver screen as a composer, orchestrator, conductor and performer of scores, for blockbuster films. He has become one of the elite in-demand composers in Hollywood. The Stanley Clarke Band will feature Hiromi, performing jazz, experimental and progressive music.
Opening for the Stanley Clarke Band will be Detroit's own Spencer Barefield Quartet. Guitarist/composer Spencer Barefield has received numerous grants for compositions. He is the Artistic and Executive Director of the Creative Arts Collective, whose concerts at the Detroit Institute of Arts and elsewhere earned the Michigan's Governor's Arts Award for excellence, and international recognition for its innovative presentations.
