Go Comedy! Improv Performs All-Satr Showdown, Benefits Operation: Kid Equip 5/1

Go Comedy! Improv Theater is setting out to prove that comedy can not only raise your spirits, but raise some dollars as well. On Friday, May 1 @ 8:00pm Go Comedy! Improv Theatre in Ferndale will perform their original All-Star Showdown to benefit the nonprofit group, Operation: Kid Equip. The charitable organization will receive 100% of tickets sales to further their mission to serve the educational needs of Oakland county children by providing free school supply kits to students from low-income families.

"We set the ticket prices at $19 for this event because it costs $19 per child to provide a backpack and full-set of school supplies. Every ticket sold will give an area youngster a great beginning to their school year," says Go Comedy Improv Theatre co-owner and producer, Pj Jacokes,

Go Comedy Improv Theatre offers the finest in improv and sketch comedy, a fully
realized training center, road shows, classes and workshops available for private parties, corporations and schools. The centerpiece of Go Comedy!'s weekly schedule is the All-Star Showdown, performed at 8:00 & 10:00pm Fridays and Saturdays. "It's our most popular weekend show and we want to raise the most money possible. Besides helping a great cause, this is a great way to show the community what we're all about," says Go Comedy! co-owner and artistic director, Chris DiAngelo. This is the first fundraising event for Go Comedy! "There are so many worthy causes and needs out there. $19 is such a small price to pay to help a kid. Giving back to the community we serve is something all of us at Go Comedy! are committed to," added co-owner and technical director, Tommy LeRoy.

Tickets ($19) to Go Comedy!'s Operation: Kid Equip event on Friday, May 1 at 8:00pm can be purchased through the Go Comedy! Box office (248) 327-0575, or in person beginning at 7:00pm the night of the event.
