MORE ABOUT THE SHOWS

The historic Century Theatre presents Sister's Christmas Catechism: The Mystery of the Magi's Gold starring Mary Zentmyer as Sister in this limited holiday engagement, which plays Nov. 23-Dec. 31, 2011. Sister's Christmas Catechism is the fourth and final show in the Gem & Century's 20th Anniversary Season of shows.

In this holiday version of the smash-hit Late Nite Catechism series, Sister employs techniques from her favorite television show, CSI, to discover the whereabouts of the Magi's Gold. As she points out in her hilarious opening, "We know what happened to the myrrh and the frankincense - Mary used them as a sort of potpourri. They were in a barn after all." Sister also ponders, "But who was the culprit who made off with the gold coins and left Mary, Joseph and the infant Jesus in that lousy stable without any chance to upgrade to a suite?"

Forensic tools in hand, Sister creates a living nativity using audience members dressed as the Holy Family, Magi, shepherds, sheep, cattle and, of course, an ass. She then sets the stage for the crime by directing a local choir in songs of the season, which add even more clues to her investigation.

Because of overwhelming demand, Mary Zentmyer reprises the role as Sister in Sister's Christmas Catechism: The Mystery of the Magi's Gold at the Century Theatre. Zentmyer, a Chicago native, returns to Detroit after traveling all over the USA performing in the Late Nite Catechism series of shows.

Sister's Christmas Catechism, with hysterical audience interaction, musical highlights, prizes, non-stop laughs and the irrepressible, irresistible Sister, is bound to become an annual holiday classic in Detroit.
